Activation and scope of consent
- The current release may not have an active OCR-provider flow or a separate OCR-consent setting. Before the feature is offered, the provider, data flow, recipients, transfers, and retention information will be presented and separate explicit consent will be obtained where required.
- If enabled, a test, examination report, prescription, ultrasound description, or other document selected by the user is sent to the OCR system only within the operation initiated by that user.
- Extracting, organizing, and making document text searchable; displaying it in the selected evaluation or archive screen; and processing the limited context and security logs necessary for the operation are restricted to that purpose.
Accuracy, retention, and security
OCR output may be inaccurate or incomplete. The user must check the original document and consult a physician for clinical decisions. The file and extracted text are retained for the requested function and applicable statutory needs, with access limited through authorization, secure transfer, logging, and data-minimization controls.
Withdrawing consent
If OCR is enabled, consent may be withdrawn prospectively through a feature control where one is provided or otherwise through [email protected] or the support channel. An applicable deletion request for the document or extracted text may be submitted through the same channels. Withdrawal does not affect lawful processing before it. If a physician or the company is subject to a statutory recordkeeping duty, the relevant record may be retained with restricted access until that period ends.
